Infrastructure for the world’s first 6G network is now in place in Stockholm!

Layer & Mesh is likely the first ISP to have created an infrastructure that is ready for 6G and its strict requirements of high bandwidth and low latency. Now Stockholm can be the first city in the world with its own testbed for the next generation of 6G networks.

Over the last few years, we have established clusters of nodes in a full mesh network. Everything is connected through the TRILL protocol and Deep learning technology. The network is completely self-healing and chooses ideal routes to achieve optimal capacity, accessibility, and security.

There are currently several definitions for 6G, which is still in lab development at the largest IT & Telecom companies. It is, however, reasonable to believe that one can agree on a throughput of 100 Gbit/s bandwidth capacity and 0.1ms latency to reach any desired resources. What distinguishes the infrastructure requirements from 5G in particular is the density of nodes and connection points necessary. It’s all about creating the shortest and strongest routes. With our full mesh network, this has become possible far earlier than anyone could have imagined.
